Forum Advertising

Forum advertising is a great free way to drive targetted traffic to your websites, but it's also a bit tricky.  There are some rules of thumb that you should go by, if you don't want to piss off the wrong people.

1. Read and abide by the rules of the forum before you start posting
2. Give some value to the forum - it's a community, so you have to give some value before you start asking for reviews of your site
3. Post helpful responses to questions, and include your forum signature (most forums allow signatures)

Basically, if you show that you are trying to offer some value to their community, and that you are not there just to blatantly advertise, then you should be ok.

You can network in forums related to the topic of your website. You can find some related forums by typing in Google: ‘website topic name’ forum
