Run Your Own Affiliate Program

If you have a product and you don't run your own affiliate program, you are crazy!  Running an affiliate program is the best deal going around on the Internet today.  Think about it... you are paying commissions to people to send you traffic, only after the sale is made.

Since the product is digital you don't have to ship anything, you do the work once when you create it (or outsource its creation), and you are splitting the payment with the person who did the actual work of promoting for you.

It's like people are sending you free money!

There are tons of ways to get started with your own affiliate program, but don't let that overwhelm you into analysis-paralysis, and actually do something immediately.

  1. First of all you need your own product.  I'm not talking about the same old tired resale rights' products.  Resale rights' products are great for viral promotion but you won't get people to promote for you if you are selling the same resale rights' product for $97, that everyone and their brother are selling it for $5.

The only exception to resale rights' products is limited, non-transferable rights, where the sellers are limited and the value of the products is preserved.

  2.  Secondly, you have to treat your affiliates exceptionally good.  These people have many choices of products and programs to promote, so you really have to go out of your way and differentiate yourself from all the other sellers.  How do you do that?  You simply give them what they like and more...

        a. Be fair and protect them  (No affiliate program signup link on the product's page)

        b. Quick and regular affiliate payments

        c. Ready-made affiliate promotion tools that they can just stick in their marketing funnel

        d. Promote multiple products with a single url (optional but highly recommended)

        e. Make it easy for them to come back to the affiliate area.  The less passwords and forms you make
           them remember the better
