This is very important, as most of your
customers will be paying by credit card. And the best part is, this can be done for free and in as little as a few
minutes.
There are 2 types of payment processors that you can choose from:
a. 3rd party payments processors
b. Merchant accounts
As your business grows you might want to consider getting a merchant account. For now, it’s more
cost-effective to get started with a 3rd party payment processor.
The most popular and credible 3rd party processors are the following:
1. Paypal
2. Clickbank
3. 2Checkout
Paypal is free. It’s very good for
one time payments; however, don’t even think about using it for taking subscription payments. They have strict rules for
2tier or multi-tier affiliate programs, and they will freeze your account without warning if they think you are in violation
of their terms. It happened to me and I am now using them only for one time payments.
Clickbank is free for getting an account
and promote affiliate programs, but to sell a product you have to pay a one time $49.95 fee. They are the best in my
opinion, because they have a build in affiliate program, and you also get to list your product in their
marketplace. They have over 100,000 affiliates, so imagine the benefits of having tons of affiliates promoting
your product, while you split the profits, on autopilot for you.
I am using them for all the products I sell with an affiliate program that you can see here: http://www.steliosaffiliates.com/
You can have up to 50 products with a single Clickbank account, if you use a software
called Easyclickmate, with it, so you only have to pay the $49.95 activation
fee once. Like I said, if you want to see how the software works, and how I have integrated it with Clickbank to sell
multiple products without having to pay a $50 fee for every product then visit http://www.steliosaffiliates.com/
2Checkout: Like Clickbank you have to pay a
one time $49 fee to use them. I have been using them for over 6 months and I’m very happy with them. They are also
great for International users, who cannot get a Paypal or Clickbank account. They are my preferred processor for
subscription payments, since Clickbank only accepts one time payments.
I have accounts with all 3. Each one has advantages and disadvantages over the others, so
depending on what you are doing you have the options.
For example, if you are selling on eBay, then Paypal is a must. If you want to write and
sell an ebook with an affiliate program the best solution is Clickbank. If you want to focus on recurring income with
subscription payments, then you should go with 2checkout.
